About Us

We are part of a stream of churches, of different backgrounds under the banner of Newfrontiers. Newfrontiers is a family of over 220 churches in the UK and several more in 22 nations including India, Kenya, USA, France, UK and many others. The five-fold mission of Newfrontiers is to restore the church, make disciple

s, train leaders, plant churches and reach the nations. This work is led by Terry Virgo and a team of apostles, prophets, evangelists and pastor/teachers. Terry is based at Church of Christ the King, Brighton, England. He frequently speaks at conferences around the world and has written several books.

This vision is being fulfilled in a number of ways. One means is with the release of trans-local ministries (Ephesians 4) to help local leaderships bring their churches to maturity. Leaders from our church meet regularly with local NFI church leaders for mutual support, encouragement and to pray together. This is increasingly provoking various joint mission ventures such as church planting and children's outreach. There are various training programmes in Newfrontiers, including Word Plus which many in our church are a part of.

Brighton Leaderhip Conference occurs each July and gather thousands of leaders from all over the world to equip and envision them. There is a great emphasis on word and spirit with specific focus on social action and church planting.

In Bournemouth we have embraced this by developing the church into a cell church with a mission mindset to anticipate growth on every level of church life. We run Alpha courses regularly, hold harvest events and promote friendship evangelism. A big part of reaching our community is our ministry to the poor, headed up by one of the elders (Colin Mitchell). This work involves us in many areas of social action including a pregnancy crisis centre, Street Life etc.

Newfrontiers also publishes many books and produces a quarterly magazine distributed to Newfrontier churches keeping family members informed of all we are involved with around the world. There are also many training opportunities for men and women to become equipped for their work of service.

At our church we wholeheartedly embrace the mission statement and values of Newfrontiers (shaped, of course, by Biblical values). Identifying with others churches and standing alongside them does means that as a family of churches we can achieve so much together than we can apart.
